With the built-in media-player, the Head Unit integrates perfectly with streaming audio, and advanced digital processing technologies like RoomPerfect™ ensure optimal performance in all environments.
Now featuring HDMI inputs and outputs, the Head Unit Processor can function as a media centre for high-performance stereo systems and surround sound systems (up to 12 native channels). It also supports immersive video formats, including 8K with the new high dynamic range formats.
All Steinway Lyngdorf systems are 100% digital, without sound-deteriorating digital-to-analogue conversions anywhere in the audio chain. This means our fully digital processors and amplifiers ensure sound is replayed completely intact, delivering the purest sound possible. Fully digital processing, in combination with the Steinway Lyngdorf Digital Link (a link cable that will carry an encrypted signal communicating both the initial setup as well as the digital audio signal and control data) keeps the audio stream entirely in the digital domain, while maintaining full resolution of the original signal. Adjusting the volume level is a haptic experience, while the central display shows volume level and other information.
While the front wheel is intuitively reduced to controlling the volume level, the top panel gives full control over all functions. Some main functions have direct buttons, while the scroll wheel and push button in the middle operate the menu shown in the main display. The Head Unit can also be controlled over the Steinway Lyngdorf app.
The elegant design hides a complete media control centre. It can be the centrepiece of a pure stereo music system capable of high-res audio, or even control the audio and video of a multichannel home cinema. The Head Unit also incorporates RoomPerfect™, a technology to adapt the Steinway & Sons speakers to the acoustics of your room, always ensuring the best sound performance.
