The first Lyngdorf Audio installation speakers
The D speakers bring Lyngdorf Audio sound quality to the custom installation speaker market. After the successful introduction of Lyngdorf loudspeakers for modern living rooms, ranging from the MH and FR on-wall speakers and BW boundary woofers to the CS-1 cabinet speaker, the Lyngdorf D series expands the company’s range with in-wall and in-ceiling speakers for stereo and multichannel installations.
D-5 for surrounds and rear speakers
The D-5 is the ideal speaker for side surrounds and rears. The midrange/woofer and the tweeter are placed together as close as possible to achieve the best sound radiation into the room, so that all surround and rear speakers play together seamlessly. The D-5 has a full and balanced sound and reaches down to 80 Hz.
Pre-mounted loudspeaker enclosure
All D-5 models come with their own pre-mounted loudspeaker enclosure, so that no after-market backbox or closed wall cavity is required. This ensures that the sound performance is always defined and consistent, depending less on the wall construction and the available space behind the wall.
Lyngdorf Audio speaker design and drive-units
Drivers are designed by Lyngdorf Audio and feature soft-dome tweeters, light aluminium cones, and powerful vented magnets. The midrange/woofer and the tweeter are placed together as close as possible to achieve the best sound radiation into the room, so that all surround and rear speakers play together seamlessly.

D stands for discreet – all models are designed as installation speakers for discreet in-wall or in-ceiling integration, featuring a wall-fixing mechanism with mounting legs. All models also come with their own loudspeaker enclosure, making system planning and the actual installation as easy as possible, with no after-market backbox or closed wall cavity required. This also ensures that the sound performance is always defined and consistent, depending less on the wall construction and the available space behind the wall.
Different to most in-wall and in-celling speakers, the D-5 models have a very robust MDF enclosure. Any CI speaker will be coupled to the wall or ceiling, and it is unavoidable that it acoustically excites and moves its surroundings. Our heavy MDF cabinet has a higher inertia, which means less resonance on its own, but also exciting the wall much less. This leads to overall less resonance, and ultimately a better sound performance in the room.
