A gramophone (from the Greek γράμμα, meaning ‘recording,’ and φωνή, meaning ‘sound’) is a device for mechanical and analogue sound reproduction. This is how Wikipedia succinctly defines a device that has become one of humanity's greatest inventions, making it possible to ‘materialise’ sound and allowing us not only to travel through time by listening to recordings of long-gone or distant performers, but also to create augmented reality and virtual worlds filled with new vibrations, sound images and impressions.
It is unlikely that Thomas Alva Edison, who was the first to record and reproduce the human voice on 4 December 1877, imagined that his invention would turn the whole world upside down, but at present it is practically impossible to find a Homo sapiens who has not come into contact with music and the fruits of this invention to one degree or another.
From a small audio-video equipment shop to a regional company
When our first specialised shop called Gramophone opened in Odessa (Ukraine) back in 1996, we had no idea that our mission for many years to come would be to continue Edison's work, promoting and popularising the modern fruits of this glorious invention. Like missionaries of sound, we have been fortunate to travel a path spanning more than thirty years, from a small audio-video equipment store to a regional company known not only in Ukraine but also beyond its borders.
Since then, our small shop has turned into a showroom with a variety of amazing audio-video systems, and we ourselves have become a company of specialists with hundreds of successful projects and grateful customers under our belts, many of whom have become our friends and like-minded people.
As before, we make excellent stereo systems, but now our menu has expanded significantly and includes a variety of multi-channel audio systems, home theatres, automation systems, acoustic materials, design services, and everything related to the creation of audio-video systems of varying complexity and their integration into residential or commercial premises.
Just as an experienced chef prepares his dishes using only the finest ingredients, we create our systems using only the very best components.
With taste and expertise, we have carefully selected brands that are, without exaggeration, the best of the best in the audio industry. In turn, leading global manufacturers have honoured us by making us their representatives. We are proud of this, but we are not resting on our laurels and are moving forward.

Before our very eyes, audio-video cassettes, DVDs, SACDs, and CDs have long since disappeared or are fading into the past, and with them an entire era in the history of audio-video technology. They have been replaced by streamers and online services. Shelves filled with all kinds of receivers, amplifiers, speakers, cables, and accessories are now a thing of the past. They have been replaced by sophisticated systems that will impress anyone.
Over the years, we have matured and grown as a company. Our customers have also grown, whose first purchase was a cassette player or portable CD player. Now, like us, they enjoy amazing multi-channel audio systems and home theatres. Our customers' children have grown up and are taking their first independent steps into the exciting world of audio.
And yet, no matter how the world changes, one thing remains constant: our love of music, our eternal passion and pursuit of the perfect sound, which drives us forward to new and greater heights, our obsession with our work and our insatiable thirst for knowledge, and you, our friends and valued customers, who inspire us and walk side by side with us on this journey!
